Alpaca yarn is spun from the wool of the alpaca, which is related to llamas. It can be compared to regular wool from sheep but is generally considered finer. Alpaca is soft and durable yarn. It is warmer than regular wool yarn and less scratchy. It does not contain lanolin, making it more hypoallergenic. It is more water-resistant than many other types of yarn and is less flammable.
Alpaca socks can be used all year round, as the fibers' pockets allow them to breathe even on warm days. It is not necessary to wash the socks as often as other types of wool, as alpaca wool is self-cleaning and often only needs fresh air.

Washing Instructions:
- Wash inside out before use
- Our Alpaca socks should be hand-washed.
- Avoid using bleach. Optionally, add a little vinegar to the rinse water if necessary.
- Gently press the water out without wringing.
- Avoid ironing, steaming, or pressing the socks.
- Lay the socks flat to dry on a towel.
We recommend not washing the non-slip alpaca socks unless absolutely necessary. The sulfur in the alpaca hair is self-cleaning and prevents bacterial growth. In most cases, the socks can simply be hung out to air. If it is necessary to wash the socks, it is best done by hand in lukewarm water. Use a mild soap designed for wool and never use fabric softener. You can instead add a little vinegar to the rinse water if necessary. Gently press the water out without wringing and then lay the socks flat to dry on a towel.
